PistonCylinder: Simulator

This page gives you several options for running the simulation that is the core of this module. Note that this module uses a simulation in a 2-D space.

Please choose:

Run as an application on your machine

The simulation can be run as an appliction on your machine provided that Java and Webstart are installed. If your machine does not already have Java and Webstart installed, links have been provided below to get the supporting software necessary. Note that Java version 1.4 or later is required. In order to run the application on your machine when it is not connected to the internet in the future, select "OK" when asked if you would like a shortcut created on the desktop.

Run as a web-based Java Applet

You can launch the simulator here so that it runs in your browser window. In both cases the applet will load in a new browser window.

Download the Java Runtime Environment 6 (from Sun) and push the "Download" button next to Java Runtime Environment (JRE)6 Update 2. This should come with Webstart.
